Mel Gibson announced that filming for The Resurrection of the Christ, the sequel to The Passion of the Christ, has concluded. The film, which focuses on Jesus' resurrection and ascension, will be released in two parts, with Part One scheduled for May 6, 2027, and Part Two for May 25, 2028. The sequel features a new cast, including Jaakko Ohtonen as Jesus and Mariella Garriga as Mary Magdalene.
