A Rust Movie Could Happen, But Dev Says Many People Are Trying To Scam Them
Facepunch Studios is in early discussions about adapting their survival game Rust into a movie, according to director and COO Alistair McFarlane. While "big-name companies" are involved, McFarlane cautioned that the process is slow and fraught with potential scams, with founder Garry Newman noting the prevalence of fraudulent parties. The studio is also considering that some companies may seek rights simply to prevent others from making the film.
