Grinding Gear Games is removing the iconic and often frustrating socket color system from Path of Exile in its upcoming expansion, Curse of the Allflame. This change aims to reduce friction for new players and make the game more accessible. The expansion, launching July 24, will also rework Abyss and Legion activities.
