Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced creative director reveals there is 'probably almost nothing' left of the original code in the remake — 'Almost everything had to be rebuilt'
The creative director for the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remake, Paul Fu, revealed that almost none of the original game's code remains, with the title being rebuilt from the ground up using the latest Anvil engine. While core mechanics like locomotion and parkour are present, the combat system was completely redeveloped. The remake is set to launch on July 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
