Ubisoft Singapore design director Julian Koch confirmed that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a remake that rebuilds assets and gameplay systems while staying faithful to the original. Creative director Paul Fu stated that the game will remain an action-adventure title without dialogue choices, adhering to the spirit of the 2013 original.
