Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor expressed surprise upon learning that the 30,000 square foot set for the upcoming A24 film Backrooms was the first physical set of its kind. He initially believed similar sets had been constructed before, given the prevalence of Backrooms media online. Director Kane Parsons created the expansive set, which even led to some people getting lost.
