A new look at Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2, revealed at the Annecy Animation Festival, features a blonde protagonist holding a camcorder, strongly suggesting they will replace David as the lead. Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red are producing the new season, which will feature a different crew and a standalone story set in Night City. The series' franchise creative director, Bartosz Sztybor, confirmed he is writing, producing, and showrunning the new season.
