Dragon Quest 40th anniversary event reveals DQ12 restart with new title, DQ11 Switch 2 port, and the return of Dragon Quest Monsters series
During a 40th-anniversary event, Square Enix revealed that Dragon Quest 12 has restarted development under the new title Dragon Quest 12: Beyond Dreams and will be delayed. Additionally, Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 24, 2026, and a new monster-taming spinoff, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, was announced for multiple platforms.
