CCP Games, the developer of EVE Online, has become an independent studio and rebranded as Fenris Creations after its management team purchased it back from Pearl Abyss for $120 million. The company will operate autonomously, focusing on its strategy and creative direction for persistent live games. Fenris Creations also announced a research partnership with Google DeepMind to advance AI in complex systems, using EVE Online as a study environment.
