Square Enix will shut down the free-to-play RPG Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis on October 7, 2026. Players can no longer purchase premium currency, and the game will remain playable until the shutdown date. Refunds for unused premium currency are being offered to players in Taiwan, but not the Philippines. The game launched on iOS and Android in September 2023 and on PC via Steam in December 2023, but failed to maintain a significant player base despite featuring the story of a young Sephiroth.
