Google kills yet another API, shutting out all non-Google platforms from favoured gif database
Google is shutting down the Tenor API on June 30, 2026, impacting platforms like X and Discord that relied on it for GIF integration. While the Tenor website and some Google products will retain access, third-party applications will lose the ability to access its GIF database. Tenor, originally Riffsy, was acquired by Google in 2018.
