Magmax
Magmax, originally released in arcades in 1985 and later ported to the Famicom and Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986 and 1988 respectively, is a side-scrolling shooter that fails to impress. While its dual-plane gameplay and mech-assembly mechanic offer some novelty, the game suffers from repetitive environments, sparse enemy variety, and ultimately becomes boring. Despite its decent port quality, Magmax does not hold up against its contemporaries and is considered a relic of its time.
