Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has indicated a shift in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's antagonist focus from Kang to Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. This change was considered around the time of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, prior to Jonathan Majors' departure from the role of Kang. Doctor Doom is confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, with Downey Jr. reprising the role.
