Metro 2039 dodges the GTA6 conundrum with a February 2027 release
4A Games has announced that Metro 2039 will be released in February 2027, avoiding a crowded September release window and the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. The game is set in 2039, years after Metro Exodus, and features a new authoritarian regime in the Moscow Metro system led by the Spartan Hunter. Players will step into the role of a fully voiced protagonist known as The Stranger, who returns to the Metro facing mutated creatures, human enemies, and personal nightmares.
