NEAR goes live with post-quantum signatures on mainnet via 2.13 release
NEAR Protocol has activated post-quantum signature support on its mainnet with the 2.13 upgrade, utilizing the NIST-approved FIPS-204 (ML-DSA) standard. This upgrade also introduces dynamic resharding, allowing shards to split automatically without validator votes or protocol upgrades. Users can voluntarily switch to post-quantum keys via a single on-chain transaction without moving assets or changing their address.
