Researchers have developed a new method called Geometric Inference Feedback Tuning (GIFT) that enables AI to generate 3D CAD models from images more efficiently. This approach uses the AI's own mistakes as training data, reducing reliance on human-made datasets and potentially speeding up product design and engineering processes. The research was partially funded by the MIT-IBM Computing Research Lab and involved contributions from Red Hat researcher Giorgio Giannone and Professor Faez Ahmed.
