Nintendo to debut a Switch 2 model with replaceable batteries in the EU
Nintendo will release a version of its upcoming Switch 2 console in Europe with easily replaceable batteries to comply with new EU environmental regulations. These regulations, taking effect in February 2026, aim to reduce waste by allowing end-users to replace batteries throughout a product's lifetime. The compliant models will be marked with an "OSM" code.
