No, Seriously, Magic The Gathering Will Be Slowing Down This Ridiculous Stream Of New Releases
Wizards of the Coast lead designer Mark Rosewater has stated that the high volume of Magic: The Gathering releases in 2026 is an outlier, and future years will feature a more manageable three sets per year. This comes after the success of the Secrets of Strixhaven set, which became the most successful in-universe MTG set ever. Rosewater also indicated that in-universe sets may eventually outnumber 'Universes Beyond' sets again.
