Regions of Ruin: Runegate Review - Thinking with portals
Regions of Ruin: Runegate offers a charming pixel art style and a satisfying progression system, but suffers from a short, anticlimactic main story and a passive, tedious resource-gathering loop. While the combat has its moments and the skill tree allows for customization, numerous small annoyances and slow animations detract from the experience. The town-building aspect is visually gratifying but lacks strategic depth, relying heavily on background worker assignments.
