Richard Lee, through his lawyer Abdul Haji Talaohu, has requested that public debate surrounding his conversion to Islam cease. Lee is reportedly focusing on his new faith while in detention and wishes for his spiritual choice to be respected as a private matter. This comes after Hanny Kristianto of Mualaf Center Ikhlas Indonesia revoked Lee's conversion certificate, not to invalidate his status as a Muslim, but due to concerns about its use in legal proceedings.
