Say farewell to the original Switch – in Europe at least, as Nintendo slips out it will no longer be shipped to retailers from Feb 2027
Nintendo will cease shipping the original Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Nintendo Switch – OLED Model hardware to European retailers starting mid-February 2027. This decision is influenced by new European Union regulations regarding replaceable batteries, making it impractical to continue manufacturing these models. Existing services and accessories for the Nintendo Switch family will remain available.
