Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto has admitted that he felt Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link was a failure, despite it being his idea. He revealed that Nintendo internally considered The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past to be the true sequel to the original game, viewing Zelda 2 more as a side story.
