Researchers have identified Skeleton 150, unearthed at Stirling Castle in Scotland, as potentially the first confirmed victim of a trebuchet. The skeleton, dating to the 1300s, exhibits over 160 fractures consistent with being struck by a large, high-velocity projectile, likely from the English siege engine known as 'The War Wolf' during the siege of 1304.
