Stephen Colbert is writing a new Lord of the Rings movie
Stephen Colbert is co-writing a new Lord of the Rings film titled The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past, set 14 years after The Return of the King. The movie will adapt early chapters of Fellowship of the Ring that were not included in Peter Jackson's original trilogy and will feature Samwise Gamgee's daughter, Elanor. The announcement was made by Peter Jackson on Tolkien Reading Day.
