Test screenings for the movie Supergirl reportedly featured several scenes that were ultimately removed from the final cut, including more backstory for the character Krem and an alternate opening. However, two additional scenes featuring Superman were added to the final version. Director Craig Gillespie explained that the film was trimmed to maintain a lean narrative focused on the characters' mission.
