The Batman 2 writer Mattson Tomlin revealed that Disney rejected his pitch for a real-time sequel to the 1991 film The Rocketeer. Tomlin described the concept as a "100 harrowing minutes" that would have explored the visceral danger of using a rocket pack. This proposed sequel was a collaboration with JD Dillard, who was previously attached to direct another Rocketeer project.
