The long-in-the-works Final Fantasy 9 animated series is back in production, and it seems to be focusing on black mages
The animated Final Fantasy 9 series, tentatively titled Final Fantasy: Black Mages Legacy, is officially back in production with EuroVisual as the new studio. Season 1 will consist of 10 episodes, each approximately 22 minutes long, focusing on the children of the hero Bibi, who are the last dark mages. While no release date is set, a 2028 arrival is considered a reasonable prediction given the project's current development stage.
