The Sinking City 2, developed by Frogwares, will shift focus to survival horror with innovations in gameplay and mechanics. The sequel introduces a new protagonist, Calvin Rafferty, and a standalone story set in the flooded city of Arkham. Key features include scarce resource management, strategic retreat options, environmental threats from the floodwaters, and unique monster abilities that affect perception and the environment. Successful Kickstarter stretch goals have added a major boss battle against the Shoggoth, extra secrets, puzzles, and a reimagined familiar location. The Premium Edition offers early access and the Holloway Manor side investigation, which rewards players with a weapon for the main game. Pre-orders include the Chthonic Arsenal DLC, and the Deluxe Edition provides Dream Essence for faster character progression. The game will launch on August 18th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with various editions available at different price points. A free PC demo is also available on Steam.
