Creative director Marcus Smith confirmed that the X-Men as a team do not exist within the universe of Marvel's Wolverine, despite the presence of characters like Jean Grey and Mystique. The game will focus on Wolverine's story and feature other Marvel characters, but not Spider-Man, despite taking place in the same Insomniac Games Marvel Universe.
