This soft and bendy hologram fan is touch friendly, and also *checks notes* can be used to prevent chemical burns
Researchers from the University of Chicago have developed BloomBeacon, a soft and flexible holographic fan designed for touch interaction. The device uses Persistence-of-Vision motion to create a large, touchable surface from a compact form factor and incorporates touch sensing for user input. Potential applications range from augmenting audio devices to acting as a safety-oriented barrier that can prevent chemical burns by creating a physical surface in mid-air.
