Former Avalanche Studios co-founder Christofer Sundberg stated that the studio's cancelled fantasy open-world game, AionGuard, had plans that mirrored features seen in the recently released Crimson Desert. Sundberg believes AionGuard could have been very similar to Crimson Desert, which has achieved significant sales success.
