YouTube to raise Partner Program minimum watch hours & Shorts views for new applicants
Starting February 1, 2027, new applicants to the YouTube Partner Program will need to meet higher thresholds for monetization. Applicants must have 1,000 subscribers and either 8,000 qualified public watch hours in a year or 20 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days, doubling the previous requirements. These changes will not affect existing YouTube Partners.
