New Oscars rules ban Generative AI from ever being eligible for an Academy Award
The Academy has updated its rules for the upcoming 99th Academy Awards, officially banning generative AI-generated actors and screenplays from being eligible for any awards. New guidelines specify that only roles demonstrably performed by humans with their consent and human-authored screenplays will be considered.
