PlayStation Closes Dark Outlaw Games, Led By Ex-Call Of Duty Veteran | Console Creatures
Sony Interactive Entertainment has closed down Dark Outlaw Games, a studio founded last year by former Call of Duty veteran Jason Blundell. This follows the earlier closure of Blundell's previous PlayStation studio, Deviation, in 2024, and marks the second studio led by Blundell to be shut down without releasing a game. Sony is also conducting layoffs within its mobile development team.

Sony has shut down Dark Outlaw Games, a studio founded by former Call of Duty developer Jason Blundell, as part of wider layoffs affecting around 50 employees across PlayStation. The studio, which was working on a new AAA original IP, had been partnered with Sony since 2025. This closure follows the recent shutdown of Bluepoint Games and broader workforce reductions within PlayStation.
