'Hopefully as many people as possible get to play it before Nintendo flips out': Fans spent 3 years secretly crafting a full Metroid Prime 2D demake, and it rocks
A fan-made 2D demake of Metroid Prime, titled Metroid Prime Origins, was secretly developed over three years and released to celebrate the Metroid franchise's 40th anniversary. Despite its polished presentation and gameplay, the game's trailer and download links were quickly removed from YouTube and Archive.org, though the developers stated they received no direct takedown notice from Nintendo.
