Austin and Kyoto Have Already Activated — Polygon Labs Says Stale PoS Nodes Must Upgrade Immediately

Polygon Labs has issued an urgent advisory stating that nodes running outdated Polygon Proof-of-Stake (PoS) binaries for Bor or Heimdall have already been deactivated from the canonical chain. The hardforks, named Austin and Kyoto, activated on mainnet at specific block heights, requiring immediate upgrades to avoid further disconnection. Failure to upgrade means nodes must resync after updating to track the accepted network history.

BOE Phase 2 trial puts stablecoins and the digital pound inside one trade finance payment

The Bank of England's Phase 2 digital pound exploration is testing the interoperability of stablecoins and central bank digital currency within a single trade finance payment. This sandbox experiment, involving NOBO Finance, Dun & Bradstreet, and Polygon Labs, aims to see if these different forms of digital money can coexist for transactions without using real customers or money. The findings will inform the joint assessment of the digital pound later this year.
