Taika Waititi will voice Willy Wonka in a new animated adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, titled Charlie vs. the Chocolate Factory, set to release on Netflix in 2027. The film will feature animation from Sony Pictures Imageworks, known for KPop Demon Hunters and Spider-Verse. The story is a modern-day adventure set in London, with Kit O'Connor playing a new character named Charlie Paley.
