Review: R-Type Dimensions III (Switch) - A Novel Remaster But A Purist's Nightmare

R-Type Dimensions III is a remaster of the Super Nintendo classic R-Type III: The Third Lightning, featuring configurable options, a new 3D visual mode, and re-recorded audio. While the presentation is impressive and includes a novel 2D/3D visual switch, the remaster suffers from significant accuracy issues with hitboxes and collision detection, making the game unfairly difficult. Despite these flaws and a locked frame rate, the inclusion of a new two-player co-op mode and the original SNES game running at 60fps offer some value.
