Yigsoft, a development partner for CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, stated their goal was to avoid any performance tradeoffs for the Nintendo Switch 2 version. They believe they succeeded due to the improved hardware compared to the original Nintendo Switch port, which required significant compromises.

CD Projekt Red announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered will launch on September 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, featuring significant upgrades to visuals, performance, and gameplay mechanics. A new paid expansion, Songs of the Past, is scheduled for release in 2027, sending Geralt to the new region of Letten. Additionally, owners of The Witcher 3 will receive the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions for free.

The game's expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, are now free for all owners. The new paid expansion, Songs of the Past, is coming in 2027, with The Witcher 4 planned for 2028. The Witcher 3 will also be available on Battle.net, including a collaboration with Diablo 4.
