Edge of Memories developer Midgar Studio is being liquidated
A French court has ordered the liquidation of Edge of Memories developer Midgar Studio, following an insolvency filing by its owner, Nacon. Despite efforts to find a buyer, no deal could be completed in time. Nacon and other subsidiaries like Spiders, Kylotonn, and Cyanide also filed for insolvency earlier this year due to financial issues with their parent company, Bigben Group.

Midgar Studio, the developer behind Edge of Eternity, is closing down after a court ordered its liquidation due to failure to secure a buyer. Founder Jérémy Zeler-Maury expressed his sadness at the closure, thanking the team, partners, and players for their support over the studio's 18-year history. Nacon subsidiaries Spiders and Kylotonn also recently filed for insolvency.
EDGE OF MEMORIES DEMO NOW AVAILABLE ON STEAM
NACON and Midgar Studio have released a demo for their upcoming JRPG, Edge of Memories, on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest. The demo offers nearly two hours of content, introducing players to the main quest, combat system, and the first boss. Edge of Memories is set to launch in Fall 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
