An Elite Dangerous player, known as CMDR Wacko, has constructed an immersive VR simulator rig called the SimStarr, using parts salvaged from decommissioned VR roller coaster rides and other repurposed components. The project, which also includes live streaming content, aims to recreate the feeling of space flight and has been a long-term passion project for the creator.
