New research suggests that exergames like Nintendo's Ring Fit Adventure could be effective tools for treating early stages of depression. A study found that participants playing the game showed significant reductions in depressive symptoms, anxiety, and improvements in sleep quality compared to a control group. This builds on previous research into video games for mental health, such as the FDA-approved EndeavorRx for ADHD.
