Mojang's general manager Ryan Cooper explained that overhauling Minecraft's world generation for the Caves & Cliffs update was a monumental task, leading the company to move away from massive yearly updates. Instead, Mojang will adopt a more frequent cadence of smaller, targeted content drops, with the first being the 'Tiny Takeover' update.
