Game Freak Announces New Game Ame no Chi Hare Onna for Mobile!
Game Freak has announced Ame no Chi Hare Onna, a free-to-play mobile game set to release in Japan this winter. Directed by Shigeru Ohmori, the game is a magical girl/weather-based title where players fight sentient trash monsters using real-world weather data. The Pokémon developer confirmed that no Pokémon will be featured in this new IP.

Graphic designer James Turner, formerly of Game Freak, has been appointed as the new Creative Director of Art and Design for The Pokémon Company. The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Bank, a storage application for the Nintendo 3DS, will cease operations on February 25, 2027. Players have until this date to migrate their Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home, as any remaining Pokémon will be lost permanently. Compatibility for Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen with Pokémon Home is expected in October 2026.
