August 2026 is set to be a significant month for game releases, featuring a diverse lineup across multiple genres. Notable titles include Game Freak's action RPG Beast of Reincarnation, Cold Symmetry's Mortal Shell 2, and Arc System Works' Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Howl’s Moving Castle-inspired game REKA hits full release in August
The open-world crafting game REKA, inspired by Howl's Moving Castle, will launch its full release on August 18th for PC. Developed by Emberstorm Entertainment and published by Fireshine Games, the game allows players to embody a witch, brew potions, cast spells, and build a mobile, walking cottage. REKA has been available in early access on Steam with positive initial reviews.
REKA Leaves Early Access With 1.0 Launch on August 18
Fireshine Games and Emberstorm Entertainment announced that REKA will leave Early Access and launch as version 1.0 on PC via Steam on August 18. The 1.0 release will include the conclusion to Reka's story, expanded cottage customization options, new features, and Simplified Chinese and Japanese localization.

The witchy base-building adventure REKA will launch its 1.0 version on August 18 for PC, as announced during The MIX Summer Game Showcase. The game features writing by Rhianna Pratchett and allows players to customize a moving cottage while learning witchcraft and uncovering Baba Yaga's secrets. The 1.0 update includes new building materials, a free-moving camera, UI overhaul, new achievements, and Simplified Chinese and Japanese localizations by co-publisher Shochiku Games.
