Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Spin-off Mobile Game Shutting Down
The mobile spin-off game Sakuna: Hinuka Junreitan, based on Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, will shut down on July 27, 2026, after launching in February 2026 in Japan for Android and iOS. The planned PC launch has also been canceled. Ahead of the shutdown, a "Thank You" campaign is offering in-game currency and materials.

TOHO Games and Edelweiss announced that the free-to-play exploration RPG Sakuna: Hinuka Junreitan will cease operations on July 27, 2026. The PC version planned for Steam has also been canceled. The developers cited difficulties in providing a satisfactory experience as the reason for the shutdown.
