A mod for Yakuza Kiwami 3 has been released that replaces the likeness of actor Teruyuki Kagawa, who voiced and appeared as Goh Hamazaki, with the character's original appearance from Yakuza 3. This change addresses fan backlash stemming from sexual assault allegations against Kagawa. Future plans for the mod include restoring the original voice actor, Joji Takahashi, and matching facial animations to the PlayStation 3 version.
Yakuza Kiwami 3's "Dark Ties" expansion was originally intended to just be a video
SEGA announced that Yakuza Kiwami 3 and its expansion, Dark Ties, will launch on Nintendo Switch on February 12, 2026. The Dark Ties expansion, which focuses on the character Yoshitaka Mine, was originally conceived as a video before being developed into a playable addition. Producer and director Ryosuke Horii revealed this in an interview with Famitsu, stating the team wanted to make Mine playable to increase player satisfaction.
