Sega records $200m impairment write-down for Rovio during Q3
Sega Sammy reported a significant decline in operating income for the nine months ending December 31, 2025, largely due to underperforming new game releases. The company recorded an impairment loss of nearly $200 million on its acquisition of Rovio, citing difficulties in advancing business development and falling profitability below initial forecasts. Sega plans to refocus on its "mainstay IPs" and strengthen its mobile gaming strategy.
