The upcoming Prime Video series Blade Runner 2099, set 50 years after Blade Runner 2049, will feature "connective tissue" to the original films while introducing a "sunshine noir" aesthetic. Showrunner Silka Luisa stated the series explores the rebirth of a city and its characters, with replicants as the new power brokers after humans lost a war. Producer Andrew Kosove assured that the series is designed for both existing fans and newcomers, with a release date set for November 25, 2026.
