Mortal Kombat 2 director says one of the sequel's most shocking deaths was "actually quite moving" to film: "We were all kind of like, 'Oh, s***. What have we done?'"
Mortal Kombat 2 director Simon McQuoid discusses the importance of impactful deaths in the film, noting that eight major characters met their end. He specifically highlighted Jax's death, where his bionic arms were ripped off, as a particularly moving and shocking moment for both the cast and the audience. McQuoid also mentioned that while Liu Kang's death was surprising, screenwriter Jeremy Slater has indicated it's open-ended and could lead to his return in Mortal Kombat 3.
